Hello – I just installed your Promotions and Discounts add-on and set up a promotional code for 2 events. However, when I went to test the code I did not see a field for the promo code.

Also – I do have 3 different rate options for these events and I would like the promo code to apply to the General Rate category only (including the early bird rate).

Appreciate your help, thank you.

Hi there,

I just installed your Promotions and Discounts add-on and set up a promotional code for 2 events. However, when I went to test the code I did not see a field for the promo code.

So you set a promotion code or set this up to be codeless (nothing in the ‘code’ field)?

Did you set up the promotion code to be global by setting ‘Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items’ to yes or did you select the 2 specific events linked above in ‘Promotion applies to…’ metabox to the right?

Also – I do have 3 different rate options for these events and I would like the promo code to apply to the General Rate category only (including the early bird rate).

Currently the promotions add-on applies promotion to the event(s) as a whole, you can set it to apply to specific tickets within the event(s).

Thanks for getting back to me.
I set it up with a code and selected 2 specific events.
Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items is set to “NO”

I would like to set it up to apply to specific tickets within the events, but I don’t see any reference to the promotion code.

Appreciate your help, thank you!

Firstly, my apologies, there’s a typo above which completely changes my reply.

Currently, the promotions add-on applies promotion to the event(s) as a whole, you cannot set it to apply to specific tickets within the event(s).

You can’t set promotions to apply to specific tickets, only events.

I set it up with a code and selected 2 specific events.
Apply Promo to ALL Scope Items is set to “NO”

That’s odd.

Can you add a screenshot of the promotion editor for one of them? Or if preferred I’ll check the admin to see if anything stands out if you can send temp login details over with this form:

Thank you, I think you may have the wrong event selected or posted the wrong URL above depending on the event in question.

The April 2021 event, here:

https://www.watsoncaringscience.org/events/caritas-coach-education-program-ccep-april-2021/

Shows the promotion field.

The October 2020 event does not, this one:

https://www.watsoncaringscience.org/events/caritas-coach-education-program-ccep-october-2020/

But in your promotion you have the 2021 event selected:

https://www.watsoncaringscience.org/events/caritas-coach-education-program-ccep-october-2021/

That does show the promotion field.

Just to note, the promotion field shows on the payment information step, like this:
