Hi there,

Promotions apply to events rather than tickets within the event, so this:

We can add a discount of £5 to the whole order but if someone buys 2 tickets it still only does £5 and not £10.

Is expected behaviour in that a promotion of £5, applies to the event as a whole.

If you need something like a discount per ticket you cold use a percentage discount, although that doesn’t work for all use cases so it really depends on the specifics of your event set up.

We can do the basic but can’t seem to add in percentage discounts or codes that will take off the whole amount for example.

Go to Event Espresso -> Promotions, create a new promotion.

You can set up the specifics for that promotion there. For 100% discount, set the promotion type to be percent and value to 100, like this – https://monosnap.com/file/TDdA41TZXRE9W1AJ1WzJHTgSMDVA2f

The whole section seems to be very basic so not sure if we have done something wrong

If you have access to Event Espresso -> Promotions and can create/edit promotions and assign them to specific events etc then you haven’t done anything wrong.

That usually means the price type has been trashed.

Go to Event Espresso -> Pricing -> Price Types (tab)

Above the list you’ll have a ‘Trash’ view link, click that.

If you have any price types in the trash, restore them.
