I have a random question and thought before I go down any testing and development path I would just throw this out there to see if I get a “not possible”, “possible but you may be biting off more that you can chew” or “yeah doable”.
We sell gift certificates through gravity forms. We plan on taking the Transaction ID’s and using them as the promo codes that can go towards the events. Although really it is now hard to manually take the approved code and add it to the promotions add-on I am wondering if there is a way to automate the process.

I see there is an unsupported way to import codes. https://eventespresso.com/topic/gift-cards/
If we wrote a script that perhaps nightly looked a new entries and pushed those into the promo tables with additional base information and defaults for the needed fields, thought on if this is worth pursuing?

Hi there,

So, in short, it’s doable and likely not all that difficult really.

Creating the promotion codes is not that difficult and done HERE in the importer.

Personally, I wouldn’t add a nightly script for this, I’m sure there will be a hook within GF that you can use at the time of purchase, right? (It has been a while since I’ve even looked at Gravity Forms to be honest).
