Hi! Am still working on configuring my new stuff on a dev server, and started on recurring events. I looked at the closed thread https://eventespresso.com/topic/recurring-events-installed-but-not-working/ and realized that I’m not seeing what I’m supposed to be seeing. When I click to repeat by day of the week, nothing else comes up. If I add a Last Event Date, I’ll see “Projected recurrences of this event” with the column headings but there’s no list of dates (of course). I can provide a screen dump if my description’s inadequate. It’s been repeatable, plus when I attempt to save the event (in the hopes of coming back to work on it again), it doesn’t save. I just purchased the license and installed within the last few days. Any suggestions? They’d be greatly appreciated. I’m also having trouble figuring out how to display the event description when the mouse pointer is over the event in the calendar. Help? |

This morning, I installed the latest upgrade on EventEspresso, and tried again. I think I understand the problem better, so I hope this helps you. I wanted to schedule a recurring event for the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. I said it’s a recurrent event, and opted for the automatic generation. Gave it start and end dates for registration, and said that the future event registration dates should be incremented according to a formula. Gave it the first date (upcoming, 12/19/12), said it repeats monthly, every 1 month, and I tried both options to see what would happen. When I select ‘day of month’, I’m not presented with any additional options for input and the projected recurrences of this event is generated with a single date (just the first one). When I select ‘day of week’, again I’m not presented with any options to specify further – the projected recurrences of this event comes up with just the column headings. So, I decided to specify manually. I created a new recurring event and specified the dates manually for 2013, and this time it worked – they were all created. So, while it wasn’t possible to say “I want to create this event for the 1st Wednesday of each month” (much easier, you’ll agree), I was able to manually create them for the specified dates for the year. |

by the way, I had planned originally to create two recurring events – one for the 1st wednesday of each month, and one for the 3rd wednesday of each month. But as I mentioned, I wasn’t able to do that. |
Hi Robin, In order to specify recurring events where they fall on days like the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, you’ll need to use the manual feature. The REM doesn’t have a feature to specify date patterns like this one automatically. |

I’d like to suggest that the capability to create recurring events in such a way would be a really great feature. The way Outlook lets you specify recurring events might be a good model. |
Hi Robin, Thank you. I’ll add your suggestion to the list of requested features. |

thank you very much, Josh. Do you also have a moment to suggest why my calendar tooltips aren’t showing? I’ve enabled them in the template settings, turned them on in the calendar settings, but they aren’t displaying. Did I miss something? I searched the forum but couldn’t find any other thing to check. |
After you turn the calendar tooltip setting on, you’ll need to save the Calendar settings. If the tootips are not display after saving the calendar settings, it may be that there is a JavaScript error on the calendar page. This can happen if another plugin or the theme is also using the q-tip jQuery plugin. You can check for JavaScript errors on the calendar page with your web browser. Here is a link to a guide that shows how to find conflicts: |

Thank you. I had turned the settings on and still nothing. I’ll look for conflicts. Thanks so much! Have a great evening- |
