Recurring events installed but not working

We have installed EE on a test dev server. We installed the recurring events manager to test it there too – but the option to make events recurring doesn’t even appear on events. Will this only show on the live site (that’s registered)? Can you test recurring events on a dev server with EE not registered (on a test site)?

Hi John,

It shouldn’t make a difference whether it’s on a dev or live site. The license key is only needed for auto-update notifications.

Are you creating a new event? The recurring event feature will show up for only newly created events.

well that answers it then – yes I was trying to edit an existing event (and make it recurring).

I don’t get it, why is this an option for only new events? I understand it creates multiple events (when you first setup recurring), but editing an existing event should do the same thing. Very confusing.

But – at least I know how it works now.

Thx for the fast response!

The original developer of REM said it would break existing events if the featured applied to them. REM is in the queue to get overhauled sometime after 3.2 is finished.

Hi. I’ve installed the Recurring Events Manager and activated the plugin. However, the Recurring Event (green arrow circle) icon does not appear in the actions column for my events. Even after going through the process of adding a new event, I still don’t seem to have the option to make the event recur. Why is this? And how do I fix this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Adia,

Here is a link to the REM documentation: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/recurring-events-manager/
When you set up a new event, is there a REM box like this one below the standard event date time box?enter image description here

Hi, Josh. Thank you for the link. I have already reviewed all of the documentation on that page. No, there is no REM box below the standard event date time box.

Which version numbers of Event Espresso and the recurring events manager are installed?

I downloaded and installed Event Espresso and REM 3 days ago. They should be the latest versions of the software.

That is probably the case, but it would be very helpful to know the version numbers so I can help you troubleshoot this.

Can you send WordPress admin level log in credentials via the contact form on this page: https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Select the “I am sending login info as requested” department form.

Hello,

I have a similar problem. I can see the “recurring event” option when i try to create a new event. If I want to change an existing event to a recurring event, this option is nowhere to be found?

I did see the answer that it would break the existing events. But this could happen every day where the user forgets and then comes back to make it recurring.

Not solution for this yet?

Cheers
Kiran
