Hi, I can post correctly to Paypal when using the live account. But when I switched to sandbox (by changing the Paypal email address and the ticking the sandbox option), Paypal returned an error ‘Data does not match input character set or default encoding. For more information, please contact the merchant.’. Is there any place to setup the encoding again for sandbox? I use UTF-8 in Paypal site.

Hi,

As per this link (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-eshop-paypal-error-message-data-does-not-match-input-character-set) you could try:

At the bottom of the My selling tools page, click the PayPal button language encoding link. On the resulting Language Encoding page, select the More Options button. From the Encoding dropdown menu, select the appropriate character encoding scheme for data that your website sends to PayPal. If in doubt, set this to UTF-8 as per your WordPress installation.

As mentioned, I have used UTF-8 already and it works with the live site. I just got the error message if I connect to the sandbox. Is there any different place to setup encoding for sandbox?

As far as I’m aware (and honestly PayPal mess with their sandbox site so often, it gets hard to keep up), the sandbox settings are separate to the live settings, so you would need to log into the sandbox site using the fake seller details and set the encoding from there.
