Prices are not added to the registration and there are no payment options

This is how you replicate the issue:

  1. Navigation to an Event Details page such as http://roaractive.com.au/event-registration/?ee=21. Note that the price for the event is ‘Price: A$10.00 + 2.00% Surcharge’
  2. Enter in your details in the left hand event registration form
  3. Click on ‘Sign Up’
  4. You will see on the resulting page that the ‘Price per attendee: ‘ and the ‘Total Price: ‘ is ‘A$0.00’.

As you can see the price is not correct.

There is also no option to select a Payment Method Option. Im not sure if this is related to the fact that the price is $0. I have just activated the PayPal payment method plus I activated the ‘Check/Money Order Payments?’ payment method just so I could test that method. *Note I have subsequently deactivated that so that only PayPal remains.

So the 2 issues seem to be that a) the price is showign up as A$0.00 and b) there is no way of selecting a payment method.

When you use the ‘Add to Cart’ method however it all seems to go very smoothly (apart from the need of a few css styling fixes). Here are the steps to do that:

  1. Navigate to a Course list page: http://roaractive.com.au/programs/school-programs/courses/
  2. Click on ‘Add to Cart’ next to one of the events such as ‘Wellers Hill State School’
  3. Click on ‘View Cart’
  4. Select ‘1’ for example from the event attendees drop down menu. (Note that the price changes correctly)
  5. Click on ‘Finish Registration’
  6. Enter your details (***NOTE THAT THIS PAGE NEEDS SOME CSS STYLING FIXES)
  7. Click on ‘Confirm and go to Payment Page’
  8. …………… and you are given the payment methods page.

I would assume that once you go to an event details page and enter in your information and hit the ‘sign up’ button that it should take you to Step 7 in the ‘Add to Cart’ method above?

Isn’t that what you would think? What are your thoughts on this?

Any help on this would be greatly apprecaited.

Cheers
David

Hi David,

Unfortunately your “coming soon” page is stopping me from checking your site out.

One thing, have you got the Members add on active? If so have you set a members price? Whilst you as an admin are logged in it will display the members prices, so either turn the add on off or add a same amount price.

This may not be the fix you need, but without being able to see the issue its hard for me to think of what the problem may be.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

If so, please send them via https://eventespresso.com/contact/

Choose the “I am sending login info as requested” option and fill out the form

Hi Dean

Ah yes. The client must have activated the WP Maintenance Mode PLugin. This hides the site behind a coming soon page for all users that are not logged in.

Appologies for that.

I have created a user for you and will send those details to you at the link supplied.

Thank you.

Look forward to you getting in there and having a look.

David

Hi David,

OK, I took a look at this, and what you will need to do is take a look at your custom template files in uploads/espresso.

Generally we recommend replacing them with the new files, but if they have been customised then you need to take more care in case you delete all the custom work you have done.

We recommend using DiffMergeto compare the files, especially if you have customised them.

The main area of interest seems to be /uploads/espresso/templates/registration_page_display.php on line 42 but obviously there may be other issues due to a result of this, so its worth checking through the files.

Thanks Dean

My developer is currently off on sick leave. If I purchased a ‘Priority Support Token’ (https://eventespresso.com/product/priority-support-tokens/) do you think that you guys could resolve the issue?

If so, what is the standard turn around time so I can let my client know.

Cheers
David

Hi David,

The tickets need to be processed by sales first and as they are in Utah it will be the morning their time, after that we try and get the issues resolved as quickly as possible, depending on what the problems are. I would pre-empt one question and send your FTP details in (add this forum link and the fact you have purchased a support token).

Hi, I am having the exact same issue! I need this fixed asap as people are not paying for courses they should be. They click register and in my admin panel is says they have completed their payment! Which obviously they have not.

I am using the Themeroller dark-hive template to display my available courses.

I would pay for VIP support but I don’t believe this is anything to do with me? This is a bad loop hole which needs addressing ASAP.

Many Thanks

@jburling

As per my above note, if you have templates in your uploads/espresso/templates folder these need to be updated with the ones from 3.1.27.P. (event-espresso/templates). If you have made any alterations to the templates you need to make sure the new files have similar alterations otherwise you will lose them when you copy the new files over.

Hi Thankyou for the speedy reply!

I have not made any alterations to any templates, so this should be a simple drag and drop into my FTP folder (Drag all folders/files from “event-espresso/templates” to “uploads/espresso/templates”) to replace the ones that are currently there?

I’ve just tried this and no files were the same to overwrite. When checking the site, nothing could be seen in terms of my events.

EDIT***** – The files in event-espresso/templates are not the same files which are found in, uploads/espresso/templates.? Am i missing something here? How can I update them if there not the same files? Cheers.

Hi no, if there were no templates in the uploads/espresso/templates folder, there was no need to copy the files. Also they would need to be copied, not moved.

If what you say is correct, it could be an alternative issue.

Is it possible to get your login details in order to look into this?

Hello.

I had a look at the system. I updated the Members addon (WP User Integration) to 1.9.4 from 1.9.0 and it has resolved the pricing issue

@david, Can you clarify your member add on version please? It may be the same issue and an update can rectify the problem.

Hi Dean

I am not using the Members add on.

My developer however has compared the template file with the original one.

Seems the price code has to be inside the form tag, I have tested it, it’s working now. WOO HOO!
