we use Event Espresso in german language and encounter the same problem as Antonio Venneri did in this topic Venues Permalink. The workaround posted there worked for me in order to fix broken links, however this really should be fixed in the code so that no workaround is necessary.
I believe that quite a lot of users encounter this problem and not all of them know how to write PHP or edit themes. So please make the translated permalink work, so that there is no need to edit functions.php to fix a bug.
I believe there is a misunderstanding here. We consider this to be a feature because “venues” is an English word and should allow for translation.
As an aside, the code that Lorenzo posted wasn’t intended to fix a bug, but rather, allow someone to optionally specify exactly what slug they want to be used for the Venue Custom post type route.
If you’d prefer to not use the custom function to change this, you can flush the your site’s re-write rules by going to “Einstellungen › Permalinks” in your WP dashboard.
thank you for your fast response! I did not know there is somethink like flushing re-write rules by changing the permalink option. You are correct: I “flushed” the re-write rules and now the translated slug works as exprected.
Glad it wasn’t broken and that easy to solve!
Thanks once again!
