PHP code for showing available spaces on reg pages

I recently upgraded to EE4 and had made a customization to EE3 that now obviously isn’t there. Essentially, on single event registration pages, it was set to say something like “Sign up now! Plenty of spaces available!” but when it dropped to 10 or less spaces, it would say “Time is running out! Only x spaces left!”

How can I do this in EE4? Thanks!
