Hello – I am using Authorize.net as my payment option and I have the phone field set required through their dashboard. At checkout, the phone field is there and the information does transfer over to Authorize.net but the field isn’t marked as required so many people aren’t filling it out and their transaction is being denied. This thread was the closest I found: https://eventespresso.com/topic/payment-error-via-authorize-net/ but there doesn’t seem to have been a resolution to the phone field being marked as required. Can you let me know if a solution has been found for this? Thank you!
Hi Lorenzo – thanks for replying. It is already set as required but that isn’t translating to the checkout form. It works for the initial set of questions but not the checkout form where you enter your credit card info.
It would require a developer to make that change specifically for your website (customization) because we can’t add the phone field a hard requirement (as Dean stated). The trick is making this modification so that it’s not erased when you update to newer versions.

OK, thanks. I’ll just make the field not required. I don’t know if it is possible but it would be helpful to have the option to make it required or not through the EE4 settings since it is an option in Authorize.net.
