I had 5 users register this past weekend for events upcoming. When they register, the payment comes through in PayPal, but their payment status is Pending Payment. Does them being an unverified user matter effect this? When will the update happen to change their payment status?
– Auto Return is set to off
– Previous payments including today worked
– If I open the transaction it says PayPal standard, Source – Cart and the image is Blue.
I’d advise enabling auto return, it automatically redirects the user back to your site after payment has been made. The IPN and the above redirect both push details to EE so when the user is redirected back to the site it updates the payment.
Set that return url to your thenk-you page although EE will override whatever you set for each transaction (PayPal needs a valid URl to enable auto redirect)

It sounds like the IPN has not been received for that payment. If you check your IPN History within your PayPal account what does it show for these transactions?
Click your account -> Profile and Settings -> My Selling Tools > Instant Payment Notifications (click Update)
