We have the situation where users can’t download their invoice/receipt in pdf format — they start the download button but the download doesn’t complete. The user is left with a partial download only on their computer. I know this sounds more like a server issue but nothing is showing in our php error logs. I’ve also put a ticket in with our hosting company. Our site is hosted at kinsta.com on php7 and nginx. |

Hi there, Can you post a test registration example we can use to download the Invoice/Receipt PDF and view this please? |
|
Hi Tony I’ve sent an “pending registration” email from EE to the email address you used in your test booking. If you click the “You can view your tax invoice online here.” link in that email and then the “Download PDF” button on the html invoice page. Thanks |

Unfortunately that won’t work as I did not use a valid email address on that test registration. You have the EE4 User Integration add-on active and apparently I’ve ran a test registration previously that has created a user so I’ve logged into that account and added a new registration, if you can use that registration I’ll receive the email. |

Hi Tony I’ve sent the pending registration email in connection with that later booking of yours. Many thanks. Kinsta.com are saying there’s nothing showing in the server logs. |

The download issue does seem to be something within the server setup but unfortunately I’m not a sys admin and so can not advise you were that will be. The downloads do not work within Chrome or Firefox for me, but they DO work within Internet Explorer. I checked the response headers and notice your running the server through cloudflare, if you disable cloudflare can you download the files? Also, the Invoice and Receipt messages have been setup using a pr version of Event Espresso which means your icons are looking for the images within the wrong directory (/event-espresso-core-pr/ as apposed to /event-espresso-core-reg/) The quickest method to fix this is to reset the message templates, but you will loose any customizations made to the templates, so before going into any detail, have you customized the templates? |
|
Thanks Tony — I’ll investigate the cloudflare issue and resolve the image issue too. Yes, our templates are fairly customised but I recall hard coding those image paths in back when we were using the pr version so I’ll go and change those paths. |

You could also test the default templates to see if this is happening due to a change in the template, it shouldn’t as it works with IE but its worth double checking. You don’t need to reset your global templates to do that, just create a custom template for Invoice within Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default Message Templates – http://take.ms/QSpVI Then on that custom message reset the templates – http://take.ms/Zzx43 Then just assign that custom template to an event – http://take.ms/S7acN Register onto it and test downloading the invoice. If it’s the same its not your templates. |
