PDF Invoice- Intermittent Server Error

Some clients are reporting they receive an error when attempting to use the download PDF link:

Something along the lines of:

Server errorThe website encountered an error while retrieving

xxxxxxxxx.com/?invoice_type=&download_invoice=true&attendee_id=…….

It is not happening every time but it is happening more and more.

I have version 3.1.29.1.P on a WordPress version 3.5 install. Client has been reluctant to update to latest versions at this point.

Could you please let me know what could be causing these errors?

Hi Jon,

Well without an exact copy of the error it is virtually impossible to pin down, even more so if we cannot test it. It could be something related to the plugin or it could be server related and out of our control. Very hard to say right now.

Of course I am going to advise you/your client to update, that version is now 4 major releases out of date and we have done numerous fixes and upgrades in that time.

Also there is an issue due to changes in WordPress 3.5+ that may cause issues for your client (wpdb::prepare bug). This was fixed in a later version than your client has.

If you can provide more details about the error in question I will happily try and help get it resolved, but right now my advice is to update and then monitor, if it still occurs we can work on it from there.
