Paypal Transaction not resulting in marking as Paid in EE

Guys,

I saw that there was a Paypal issue back in March/April where they weren’t passing back all the information that EE needed to mark the transaction as complete. I’m having that exact sporadic problem now. Did that get fixed with Paypal? Is there any reason it would be happening again?

More info: In the Registrations Grid view the transaction shows up as 0 dollars paid, but the invoice view shows the transaction and transaction summary does too.

Feels like this might be a bit different/an EE issue, rather than PayPal?

One more update that describes what’s happening:

1. We have a ticket worth $80
2. Client bought ticket and successfully posted $80 via Paypal
3. The registration grid shows this transaction as “Incomplete” under TXN Date, and $0 paid under Paid
4. EE provides the right invoice with transaction ID etc, and shows the transaction details under “View Transaction Details” correctly.
5. When I apply an $80 manual “Apply payment” it now says “Overpaid” under TXN Date and in all invoices, etc, but only shows $80 under the “Paid” column.

Hi there,

It sounds like you might still be using the PayPal Standard gateway? If so, you really need to switch to use the PayPal Express gateway that’s available on the Event Espresso > Payment Methods page. You can use your same Paypal account and you can get your PayPal Express API credentials by following this guide:
