On PayPal Pro, We pull this monthly download history report that includes all the shopping cart information so we can reconcile. The report is no longer including the shopping cart information when I run it. PayPal said the shopping cart is not setup to process this correctly. How can we make sure the shopping cart items (attendee name, company, etc.) are captured on this report going forward? Does something need to be configured differently?

Hi, are you selecting include shopping cart items when getting that report in your PayPal account?

Also, what version of Event Espresso are you using?

Yes, even when selecting to include the shopping cart items, the report does not include them.

We are on EE3

Hi, I may have misunderstood you. Not all order details are sent over through the shopping cart option. For example, registration questions are not sent over. However, you should see the event name, event description, and amount.

How can we make it so they are sent over? I need that information on the report.

Hi Mark, that isn’t something we can take on at this time as it would require more than a few lines of new coding to the payment gateway.

Please check with an Event Espresso professional here:

https://eventespresso.com/developers/event-espresso-pros/

It should be sending the event name, event description, along with pricing. This is what the coding shows and we send over similar data with other payment gateways such as Authorizenet, Stripe, and PayPal Standard.

If it is not not showing that information, then let us know and we can revisit this.

Thanks

Lorenzo

In order to pass the payment/registration details, does PayPal IPN (Instant Payment Notification) need to be activated in addition to the settings we’ve configured for PayPal Payments Pro?

The PayPal IPN is used by PayPal to notify your site of a payment made through PayPal.

It basically passes the information passed to PayPal back to the site with a confirmation of payment.
