PayPal IPN failing to reach site before customers

Hi guys,

The PayPal IPN is failing to reach the site before the customers do; so is showing incomplete payment and prompting them to pay again.. I found a fix a while back for this in the support forum but after updating (EE3) it has over written the changes and when I tried to recreate it I got the “white screen of death” so had to restore from a back up. Can you please let me know or copy the files in text on here please how I would get the “pending” notification on the thank you page instead of the incomplete we currently get.

Can you provide further details on the previous fix you tried to re-use please?

Maybe it was Sidney’s modification outlined here?

You can copy over the entire EE3 PayPal gateway over to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways and it will load from there. This will keep your changes safe from being overwritten on an update.

Hi Josh yes that’s the one, so am I right in thinking that in the current update no changes have been made to the PayPal gateway? I was updating fro quite an old version cant remember what version though..

I can’t accurately answer your question because I do not know which version you are updating from. You can copy the current version of the PayPal gateway over to /wp-content/uploads/espresso/gateways, then make the suggested changes listed in the gist, then test to make sure your changes didn’t break anything.
