Hi

I have just tried to activate Paypal Express and I am getting a configuration error which seems to be related to the paypal button url. However, I’m not sure this is the whole story/issue. In any event EE is not currently processing orders via the new paypal set-up. Could you please check this for me urgently and advise. Many thanks.
Joe

Hi Joe,

May I ask without having access to your site and your PayPal account how do we check this for you?

Have you followed the documentation to get up and running with PayPal Express?

Hi Josh

Here is the error message that appears when the customer clicks on the ‘Proceed to Final Registration’ button: https://www.dropbox.com/s/68ea91tgkhz9cmi/Screen%20Shot%202017-05-05%20at%2018.55.58.png?dl=0

I have followed the instructions on your link, to the letter, pasting in the required credentials exactly as indicated.

If you need access to my WP control panel I can supply these (I have given you this access before so you may still have it?). Access to Paypal control panel is with the client so not so easy to give you. Before I ask the client for this I would prefer to make sure nothing else is amiss.

I hope you can help me to find out what’s happening. Thanks.

Joe

We do not keep credentials for websites (we delete those after we’re done). We can check your website if you can fill out the form on this secure page:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Also, we’ll need a way to verify that you’ve entered the correct API keys from your clients PayPal account. If you can log in to that account and take some screenshots of the page where you got the API credentials, and include them with the login details, then we can verify.

Hi Josh, thank you. I will be sending you the WP credentials now. Meanwhile here are the Paypal credentials as sent from the client.

Please do not post information like your client’s API credentials here in the forums.

One more thing Joe, and this is very important. We need a screenshot of the page where you’re getting the API credentials from. Also very important: Please do not post the screenshot here, but instead include the screenshot in the information with the login information form.

Joe,

I logged into your client’s site and the PayPal Express fields are blank. Are you sure you entered those credentials there, and saved?

Thanks Josh. Yes, I definitely entered those details on the site, and saved them. I don’t kno why theyve disappeared. Let me check again.

They’re still blank Joe:

May I ask, what is the URL of the admin page that you’re saving these settings to?

BTW I just refreshed the EE page where the credentials were saved and they have now disappeared again. What is going on?

It may be one of your security plugins isn’t allowing what you’ve input there. Or your WordPress database isn’t allowing options to get saved to that table.

Could you possibly try entering them there yourself and see if the same happens for you? As I said I have to go now. Thanks.

How do I know if you have the correct API credentials?
