1) I chose another button in the PayPal gateway settings, but the standard button is still shown. Would be nice to have a high resolution version. 2) I activated two gateways: PayPal and EFT. The buttons are not aligned properly. The top of the PayPal button (left) starts in the middle of the EFT button (right). |
Hi Joel, after selecting the new button through the payment methods screen, are you saving changes to the payment method? Your second question sounds like it can be corrected with a line or two of CSS. Is a link available to an event on your site? — |

Hi Lorenzo, yes, I saved it. When coming back to the settings page, the new button is correctly displayed, but not on the payment page. |
Hi Joel, It should appear right away. Are you using any caching services? If so, could you setup no cache rules for your site? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/ — |

One more question, could you let us know the version of Event Espresso that you are using? My prior feedback was regarding the current version of Event Espresso 4. — |

No, we don’t use any caching services. I’m sorry, I forgot to mention that we are using the latest version of EE 3 because we need the seating chart addon. We’re just going to upload another image to the gateway folder. |

Hi, I tested the PayPal image on a test site and had no problem swapping it over. Is the URL valid? Are you certain there is no server level caching on your site? (It’s becoming increasing common for a host to add server level caching without the website owners knowledge). |
|
I chose an image from the wp media gallery. It is displayed correctly on the EE settings page. Caching usually doesn’t involve php scripts not being executed again… I can change the url manually in the gateway files, which of course works. |
|
Caching the page would result in the changes not being shown even if the php changes. Changing the core file to a different image (but with the same filename) will work, because the cached page would be looking for the same file name. I would double check with your host just to see if any caching is being done on the server level and how to clear it. If there is no caching it at least definitely rule sit out and we can look at other options. |
|
No, changing the core file would not work if it was being cached, because used a different file name for the new image. If we had used the same file name, we wouldn’t have had to change the core file… |
Hi Joël, Which file and line did you change? Along with that, what’s the version number of EE? |
|
|
I don’t know how that’s helping with the problem, but we changed every instance of ‘paypal/btn_stdCheckout2.gif’ in the paypal gateway files to ‘paypal/btn_stdCheckout2.png’. We’re using 3.1.37.1.P. |
Hi Joel, I took a look at the payment gateway. It should use your button that you set in the payment methods screen. Otherwise, it will check these locations: http://cl.ly/image/3m2U2W2e380i When you uploaded the new button image, did you also save changes to the payment method for PayPal. http://cl.ly/image/2d3x3J3M2G03 –> http://cl.ly/image/2m1Z1o2k2s2S — |
