Hey! I can see that some users can verify that paylater with Paypal is active on their accounts but I cannot seem to get it to work.. By that I cannot see any pay later buttons. Same with Stripe.

I have the latest versions of Paypal Commerce and Stripe installed. I have deleted and reinstalled the Paypal plug-in but no luck, however, I am now experiencing a few verification errors where payees couldn’t get PayPal to process.

I fully understand you are not Paypal support. before I contact Paypal I wanted to double check that I’ve installed everything correctly. Aside from installing and activating are there any steps I should have taken?

Hi there,

I have the latest versions of Paypal Commerce and Stripe installed. I have deleted and reinstalled the Paypal plug-in but no luck, however, I am now experiencing a few verification errors where payees couldn’t get PayPal to process.

Can you add more details on this, please?

Do you have an EE_transaction with the payments attempted on Paypal showing there? (I’m asking as they will usually have an error/code related to the payment which we can investigate).

Oh, I know what that is.

Go to Event Espresso -> Maintenance -> System Information.

Search for ‘precision’, yours is 14 (which is fine)

But, ‘serialize precision’ is set to 100 and that changes how float are represented within json_encode() which is used to send the values over to PayPal.

In your hosts control panel, check if you have the option to set a value for ‘serialize precision’ in your PHP options, if you do, set it to be -1 and that should fix the issue.

This was reported previously here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/paypal-commerce-errors/

Thanks, so much. That part is now working but there is still no “pay later” button. Is there anything else I need to do?

You’re currently not connected to PayPal?

Go to Event Espresso -> Payment Methods -> PayPal Commerce.

Hit Connect With PayPal and connect your account.

The PayPal PayLater options we don’t control, its all determined on PayPals side. UK supports it and I can test a registration my end to see if it displays for me one your connected again.

Sorry about that. I had trouble reconnecting to Paypal after activating sandbox mode. It’s connected again now.

I see the PayPal pay later options if select PayPal on checkout within your site and then use my PayPal account.

Do you not?

I do not. But as long as you do, that’s good. I will go to PayPal and try to figure out why the link doesn’t appear for me. Thanks for your help!
