Payment Status Not Updating – WorldPay

Hi

When customers pay via WorldPay, their payment status in Event Espresso remains ‘Incomplete’. When testing with live payment, no confirmation email is sent to either admin or the customer. WorldPay did not return to ‘thank you’ page after transaction was completed.

However, I did receive confirmation of payment from WorldPay.

Within Event Espresso>General settings > Email settings I’ve set..
Send payment confirmation emails? : Yes
Send registration confirmation emails before payment is received? : No
Use fancy email headers? : No

Any help resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Nic,

In order for the payment status to update, they’ll need to return from WorldPay back to your site’s Thank you page after transaction is completed. Is the Thank You page set up correctly with the correct shortcode? There’s some more information about how to set up the Thank you page in the documentation:

Can you also check your WorldPay account and make sure that the Payment response is enabled? There’s a step by step guide on how to enable the Payment response in our documentation here:

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the quick response.

I managed to get the status to update on EE by enabling payment response and I’ve also added the Thank you page URL within WorldPay account.

The thank you page has been setup with the shortcode [ESPRESSO_PAYMENTS]…

…however, WorldPay is still not returning to the thank you page.

I’m I missing anything else?

So when you make a payment with WorldPay, what actually happens on the page?

Hi Tony

Once payment has been made on WorldPay, the WorldPay thank you page loads with the ‘Merchant’s reference’ and ‘WorldPay Transaction ID’.

It then just stays on the WorldPay thank you page.

Thanks again for looking into this for me.

I followed the steps outlined in the link you sent, however, WorldPay still didn’t return to the EE ‘thank you’ page. What did happen was WorldPay downloaded the thank you page from my site and displayed it on their server (which looked really bad).

I may be wrong, but it seems there’s no easy way of making WorldPay returning to the thank you page.

The reason it looked bad may be the difference between the two sites having https and http. Is your site http? If so you can get an SSL certificate, then follow this guide to make your site https:
