People are registering for my events but they are getting this message: “this registration step could not be completed. Please refresh the page and try again”. Problem is…..since they think it didn’t go thru, they do it again and are getting charged twice, sometimes three times. THen I have to go in and void or refund them. This is frustrating for me and also for my customers who are now leery of using the website. I contacted Authorize.net and they said they did an update to the scanner and the URL should be all lower case…which it is. They then said to contact you. Is it possible to get this corrected as soon as possible? Thank You! |
September 11, 2015 at 11:56 am Hi Miriam, When you test the registration does it display the same error message? |
Josh – yes it does! |
Can you check you PHP error logs? There is likely an error that’s being thrown at the moment that the registration is finalized. I suspect it may be related to email going out, so a quick check you can try is you can temporarily disable all emails from the Event Espresso > Messages admin. If no errors are thrown with the messages disabled, then we’ll have a better idea where to look next. |

I’m not sure exactly how to disable all messages |
September 12, 2015 at 12:25 pm Hi Miriam, here are the steps to do so: Login to your WP dashboard and go to Event Espresso –> Messages –> Settings. Then click on the toggle to turn the messages system off. Then please try another registration and let us know if the issue continues. Thanks — |

Lorenzo It is now working….and customers are getting a message that shows up saying registration is complete and also receiving an email that payment has gone thru. But the email with registration information is no longer coming to me – any idea where this may have gone? It was on the default page under messages but is not there, so I am not getting info on people that have registered |
Hi Miriam, is this now working with the messages system off? Or is it back on? Could you please clarify as that system handles notifications. Thanks — |
I had turned it off….but it never reset itself…..so turned it back on and went thru a registration and it did work properly. Except that the registration confirmation that is supposed to come to me is no longer there |
Thanks Miriam, that was helpful. Could you double-check to see if that notification ended up in your spam or junk mail folder? If it didn’t, then could you try setting up a transactional email service like Mandril, Sendgrid, or Postmark app? We have information on how Event Espresso handles emails here and how to get a transactional email service setup: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ — |

Lorenzo, Nothing showing up in spam. As of yesterday when I went into the default message templates, there was an email there that was to send registration notification to registrant and me. It is now gone – any idea how to get that back? That was what was originally being sent to me – I’ve attached a copy of it here: Registration Notification The following attendee(s) have registered for the following event: Event: Moonrise Registrant Details: Registration Code: 2572-502-1-7955 Moonrise |
Hi Miriam, Please go to Event Espresso -> Messages. Do you see the ‘Registration Approved’ message template listed there? |
Tony, No it is not there now. It was there on Friday, but as of Sunday it is not Miriam |
September 15, 2015 at 12:38 am Ok, go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Settings (tab) Select the email settings. You’ll see something like this – http://take.ms/ZT5Yl Is the registration approved in the active messages list? If not, click and drag it over to the active list and check the main template list again. If it IS in the active list, drag the ‘Registration Approved’ message to be inactive – http://take.ms/AuU9v Wait a few seconds, then drag it back – http://take.ms/ii9pn Now go back to Event Espresso -> Messages. Is it listed there now? |
It is showing as active. When I try to drag it over the the inactive box, it won’t refresh, so it never actually gets deactivated |
Tony, I get the spinning gear icon and nothing happened. I tried to turn off messaging then turn it back on but I couldn’t even do that. None of the changes would stick Miriam |
That’s strange. Would it be possible for me to take a look at this? If so please send temporary login details using this form: |
