Is it possible to inactivate all payment methods for a pay event?

Hi there,

Is this just for a specific event on the site or all of them?

For a paid ticket, EE requires a payment method is active to finalize the registration so you can not de-activate all of the payment methods but you can have just a single ‘offline’ payment method such as Invoice or Check.

It is for all of them.

Does EE work if we completely deactivate the payment methods?

No, EE requires at least one single payment method is activated.

As mentioned above, for paid tickets, the user MUST finalize the registration using a payment method so if your tickets have a price set on them in EE, you need a payment method.

May I ask what the use case is for this?

Are they paid or free tickets? I’m assuming paid as you mentioned ‘pay event’ in your opening post.

Hi Tony,

the tickets are paid tickets. We want to send an own invoice to the participant after registration (not via EE).

Ok, so you’re still going to need at least on payment method enabled.

If you don’t want to use Invoice you could use any of the other Payment method (Check for example) and update the text used on that payment method explaining the user will receive an invoice separately, would that work for you?

Sorry, but I have one more question.

We decided us to use Invoice and update the text explaining the user will receive an invoice separately.
But during the registration in step 2 the user can´t see, that we use Invoice and also can´t see the explanation text.

How is it possible to show the user these informations?

That’s because you are using a Default Registration Status of ‘Not Approved’ which is a status used to allow users to register onto an event, the admin review the registration and either reject of allow it by setting the status of the registration to allow the registration to continue (like ‘Pending Payment’).

‘Not Approved’ registrations do not show the payment options step, only after they have been updated to Pending payment will they show that step.

You will need to either update the not approved details to include details on the Invoice (if you wish to continue to use the current setup) or change the Default Registration Status value to ‘Pending Payment’ so that user can view the payment options step.
