Payment Declination

EE3 Issue: I started getting the message below for every event registration in the past couple days.

There are no declined transaction in my Auth Net account…so I dont think the transaction are even hitting Auth Net.

Line item 1 is invalid.
Response Code: 3
Response Subcode: 1

Hi Scott,

Did you make any changes to the site over the past couple of days that could have caused this?

When testing if I input dummy card details and try to pay, I see the line_item error when the thank-you page loads. Then if I re-input the details again I see a payment declined message.

Are you running caching plugins on the site?

I notice the server is using nginx, is it also using varnish cache? If so the EE critical pages will need to be excluded from caching. We have further details on which pages to exclude here:
