Hello, Here is one specific event instance: http://www.lospoblanos.com/events-calendar/event-details/?ee=701 Please help! Thanks, |
Hi Ian, Please double-check the following shortcodes: http://cl.ly/image/1m2D3z0W0L0g The [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] shortcode is required for registration checkout and should not be replaced with any other shortcodes. — |

Hello Lorenzo, Thanks for your reply. I am using the correct shortcode ([ESPRESSO_EVENTS]), but the page is still hanging on submission of the registration. If you test you will see. What is causing this? The other events go through ok. Best, |
|
Hi, I ran a test registration and it ran very slowly but did not hang, but it returned me to the main registration page. What page (please provide an URL) is the ESPRESSO_EVENTS shortcode on? Is this page published? Have you checked the Event Espresso general settings to make sure the correct page has been selected in the Main Registration dropdown in the Page Settings section (screenshot http://take.ms/3x8eI) |

Hello Dean, Thanks for your reply. All of the settings and shortcode are correct. The page is published and all events except the one I linked to () are working ok. On submission the page does hang and the submission doesn’t go through to a confirmation page. What could the issue be? Best, |
|
Here is the link of the event that isn’t working: http://www.lospoblanos.com/events-calendar/event-details/?ee=701 All others work fine. Best, |
Hi, The event has expired but I found something else on the site. It looks like your event registration page is a child page of the calendar page. http://www.example.com/events-calendar/event-details/ Try moving the event-details page to a parent level: http://www.example.com/event-details/ Then go to the General Settings page of Event Espresso and ensure that the page is selected. Finally, go to WP-admin –> Settings –> Permalinks to refresh your permalinks. Then re-test with a current event to see if it still hangs. — |

Hello Lorenzo, Still no luck. The event is active and hasn’t expired: It processes the registration, but it takes way too long to send the user to the Thank You page confirming their registration. It also sends them to the Event List after eventually finishing. How can it go to the Thank You page like the other events? Thanks, |
|
Here is the event again: http://www.lospoblanos.com/event-details/?ee=703 |
Hi Ian, I think the issue you’re seeing is due to the page caching that’s set up. Here’s are some of the errors I’m seeing when I try to load that page: Then a 500 Internal error is thrown later. It’s imperative that the main registration page and the Thank You pages are served dynamically (not statically as cached files). You can follow this guide to disable caching for the Event Espresso pages: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/ |

|
Hello Josh, That link is for EE4 and we are using EE3. Do you have a link for disabling EE3 cache? Best, |
Clear your cache and exclude the pages with the following shortcodes: http://cl.ly/image/3y0J133t3S0W Here are the slugs on a default install: /event-registration/ — |
|

Hello, Caching is not the issue. I have followed all of the steps mentioned and am still experiencing the same issue. Is there something else at play? Thanks, |
There are a number of files that are potentially out of date template files (from a prior version of Event Espresso) in the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates/ directory. If you have modified templates in there, they need to be updated to use the new template files included with the current version of the plugin. If you haven’t made any modifications to the files in the /uploads/espresso/templates they can be removed. If you are not sure if there were modifications made to these files, you can back these up or rename that folder just in case. To test whether the templates are causing an issue, you can automatically rename the /wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates folder by going to Event Espresso>Template Settings and clicking the “Rename templates directory” button near the bottom of the page, then try registering again. Another thing worth checking is if any new plugins were added or old plugins were updated recently, they can be temporarily deactivated to rule out whether they’re causing the breakage. |

Hello Josh, Neither of those items appear to be causing the issue. No plugins have been added since it started happening and I have deleted all template files in the “uploads” directory. Trying a submission again took much too long to process and just redirected me to the events listing page and not a Thank You page. argg. Best, |
Hi Ian, If you’re certain you haven’t changed anything on the site at about the time this started happening, I can suggest checking with the host to see if they moved the server or ran some updates on the server’s software. |
