Override template files?

Just added the custom files addon. I’m a bit confused as to how to override one of the template files. I would like to edit the event_listing_display.php template file and add a few extra fields. I’m not clear on the procedure for this. I thought it was like wordpress template system, copy the existing file and paste it in uploads/espresso/templates and Espresso would use that file instead. Is this how it works?

Thanks,

Dean

Hi,

You don’t need the Custom Files add on to modify a base template like that.

You are correct in copying the event_list_display.php to uploads/espresso/templates.

The problem you may be having is you also need to copy the event_list.php file as well, they need to be copied in pairs even if you only edit one.

Same thing goes for the event_registration.php and event_registration_display.php files.

That’ll do it! Thank you very much.
