I’ve noticed another issue with EE4 when participants register more than one child. The confirmation they receive only shows the first child’s name, not subsequent names. I’ll often get calls or emails from parents who want to make sure that both children are registered.

Hi Susan,

For the childs names are you using custom questions or have you setup the additional registrations to use the personal info questions?

Can you link me to one of your events I can run a test registration on please.

Hi Tony,

Can I provide you access to the backend to check? Not sure what you mean.

Please see https://safetycoursesforkids.com/children-safety-courses/red-cross-babysitting-course/.

Thanks

Hi Susan,

This is what we were looking for:

http://cl.ly/image/270D0e2Y053U

If that is used that each registrant/attendee will appear in the registrations overview screen.

When multiple registrants are done at once, then there will be a count like this appearing next to each:

1/3
2/3
3/3

Could you spot check a couple of the recent registrations to see if the parent/guardian name was used?

How do we get the info included in the email. I do not understand what you are asking?

Hi Susan,

If the registrations are being recorded in the registrations overview screen, then it will appear in the registration details email. Here is an example:

Does your registration approved message type look like this in the messages overview screen?

Lorenzo,

The secondary registrant information is not being included in messages sent to the registrant. How do we make this appear.

Hi,

Does your registration approved message type look like this in the messages overview screen?

If it is different, then you may be using the primary registrant recipient which shows information for just that registrant.

Hi Susan,

Are any custom message templates in use on the site?

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-create-a-custom-message-template/

If not, then what do you see in EVENT_LIST area under the registration approved message type?

The following screenshot is from the default content:

I see the same thing. Can we please give you backend access to take a look? We need this issue resolved and can’t keep going back and fourth for the next two weeks like every other issue we have with this system.

Hi, I see what is happening here.

The recipient message type only includes information for the first registrant. Since you are collecting information separately for the children but using the parent’s email address, then you’ll want to enable the primary registrant message type for the registration approved message type.

Go to Event Espresso –> Messages –> Registration Approved –> Primary Registrant. Then add the following shortcode to the TO field and save changes:

[PRIMARY_REGISTRANT_EMAIL]

The message type for the primary registrant uses the attendee_list shortcode which will list out names for each attendee (i.e. the student names).
