Hello,

We are trying to setup ongoing events to be used as vouchers. We have a vouchers page setup that shows only the “voucher” events but clients are mislead by the date.
We’ve looked around the forum and saw 2 topics on this matter. We’ve tried editing an event and making it “ongoing” and setting the event start and end date to blank, but then the event would no longer show up in the listing.
What would you suggest ?

Hi,

Have you considered using promotional codes instead?

Regarding the issue, an ongoing event should still show in the default event list even with the dates subsequently removed.

Are you suing the default event list or the EVENT_LIST shortcode? If the latter are there any parameters being used?

i’m using the shortcode :
[ESPRESSO_TABLE max_days= category_identifier=”fixed-value” order_by=”start_date”]

Hi,

The Espresso Table uses a different structure to the Event List which is why we have introduced the Custom Templates addon as it is more in line with the main templates.

Barring adding a date, you could set the show_expired=”true” parameter, but that would show all expired events.

Other than that you would need to edit the espresso_table shortcode to modify the SQL query. I took a look but there is no simple way to do it, you would have to re-write part of the query.
