We give away a couple dozen gift certificates to our event that are used as door prizes. Each gift certificate is for the same amount but each has a unique code that is applicable to only one level of ticket for the event (the event has 6 ticket levels). Is there a way to accomplish this in EE so that the attendee can register online and use his unique code to register for the ticket that the certificate applies to?
If this can’t be done, how can I manually register someone via the backend so that I can get them in the system, but not have a payment be required? Thanks.
Currently, promotions are applied to events rather than tickets within the event, so you can’t set a specific ticket type within the event to accept a promotion and others not to.

You can add registrations to an event in the admin by navigating to:
At the top of the page you’ll see an ‘Add New Registration’ button, if you click that you can add a registration within the admin. It’s almost the same as adding the registration on the front end, so it will show as pending payment but you can manually change the status to Approved.
