We have an old premium version of EE on our site version 3.1.37.1.P. I renewed the new license and entered it into the EE general settings field but am still getting an error saying we don’t have a valid license. Do i need to download the zip for the new version of your plugin and upload it to our site to get it working or would that be a mistake since there is already a version of the EE plugin installed? |
Hi, I’m sorry for the trouble. The reason it says you do not have a valid license is because your license is for EE4. An EE4 license is not valid for updating EE3. If you want to stay on EE3 you can go to your account page and switch your license to an EE3 license. If you want to migrate to EE4 you’ll download the EE4 zip from your account page, and follow this guide: |

when i switch the license to E3 i am sent to a new billing page for $119. We are just having some basic issues with the plugin that I thought maybe updating would clear. We are using version 3.1.37.1. What is the latest version of 3? |
The latest version of EE3 is 3.1.37.14.p. Here’s a link to the changelog that includes all the changes since 3.1.37.1: |

Can you tell me why when I switch the license it wants to bill me $119? |
|
The problem that we are having is that we keep getting the error message basically saying that I need to include the info on event pricing, even after I have included it. I can send you screenshots if that would be helpful. |
Because the EE3 personal license has a price of 119.95. I’m pretty sure the EE4 license you have now would get pro-rated into that. Since I do not work with the sales end of things, it would be best if you could contact the sales team and they can assist you with getting your account switched over. |

You’ll need to update to the current version of Event Espresso 3, since the old version you have now isn’t compatible with the current versions of PHP and WordPress. There are so causes to an issue like this one, and other issues caused by running old software, so updating to the current software is the first step to resolving this. |

What type of support is included with the premium license that we purchased today? Is it just this forum or is there email support? I am troubleshooting this issue for someone else and probably need to get their site set up with premium support so they can be in touch with them directly. How do I do that? |
You could send an email to support at eventespresso.com if you prefer. There’s no difference in the level of support compared to email vs. posting a topic here. Both are monitored by Event Espresso support staff. In any case, the site will need the current version of EE3 or EE4 to get support. We do not support version of the software that were released 4 years ago. |

Sounds like I need to switch the plan to EE3 and hope the update clears the issue they are having. If it doesn’t and I need to put the person having the issue in touch with support how would I do that? |
They can send an email to |

Thanks for your help. I have updated the plugin and will now see if that clears the issue. If not the email I can give them is support@eventespresso? Would they need to include a license number email support? |
You’ll add a .com to the end of that email address, as in eventespresso.com support
No. It will be helpful if they can include a link to this topic though. This way if it’s not me that replies to the email, the other support staff will have some context. |
