Old and new events not showing up in Event Overview

I just upgraded from 3.1.15 and my old events are not showing up in the Event Overview. I created a new event. Saved it and it also is not showing up. Event Overview shows zero events. Both the gateway and template files are empty. I’ve found others in the forum with this problem, but no solutions are listed. Please help if you can!

Hi Keith,

The first thing to check is your event filters. In a recent update we changed it so not all events are initially shown, and you need to filter the event overview accordingly.

Also check the Live Search box to make sure there is no content in there.

Hello Dean, well, that worked! I assumed that when no filters were chosen the default would be for all events to show up. Anyway, I found my events. Thanks.

However a second issue (which I thought was related but isn’t) is that I cannot view the event anywhere but the editing page. Whenever I try to view it, it goes to the right page (http://www.masp.mb.ca/events/upcoming/?ee=20) but where the even should be it says the page is not found. This occurs in all ways of trying to view the event:
– under “Event Overview” and I click “view” to look at my event
– When I go to the “Upcoming Events” page
– and when I click the link from the widget

In terms of problem solving I’ve confirmed:
– The Upcoming Events page is set up with the proper shortcode.
– The page is “public” and not password protected
– This error occurs even with original WordPress default themes

Could you help me with this problem too?

Thanks,
Keith

Of course.

You have confirmed that the page has the correct shortcode, but it is not the default page, so I would suggest checking the General Settings page, Page Settings section, and make sure that the correct pages are allocated.

Are the Event Espresso pages child pages? Though it shouldn’t make a difference, we do recommend them to be parent pages.

You could also check your permalinks, by going to Settings > Permalinks and just re-saving the options. This will refresh your permalinks.

Strange, those pages used to work. However as per your suggestion I deleted them, recreated them, and made them all parent pages, and now they work.

Thanks again for your support Dean- it was prompt, efficent, and accurate!
