Hi Thanks . . . Erika. |

Hi Erika, The first thing to check is if the email notifications are getting trapped in your email account’s spam folder. If not in spam, you can go to test an email from one of the email Message template editors. Do you receive the test? If so, it may help to go to Event Espresso > Messages > Message Settings and set the the option for emails to be sent on the same request. If not, can you verify whether *other* emails (like a WordPress password reset email) get sent from your site? You can install this plugin to verify whether the mail actually gets sent or not: It’s important to discern whether the emails are actually not getting sent, or if they’re actually getting sent, but not received. If you find that they’re getting sent, can you check to see whether the emails are getting trapped in the spam folder? In most cases, setting up a third party service to deliver email will resolve email delivery issues. The built-in mail servers (especially those that are used for shared hosting accounts) can be unreliable. We recommend using a service like Mandrill, Postmark, or any of the other services listed in our documentation for sending transactional email. Hello Josh Any other thoughts on how to proceed are greatly appreciated. Thanks . . . Erika. |

This is the important part, if the messages show in the mail Llg then EE is triggering the email and passing it over to your server for it to do whatever it does to send the emails (there are multiple options so it’s down to the server config at that point) but they are then not received. Its usually an issue with the mail server you are using, they may be dropping the emails if they consider them spam and not sending them at all. Try using one of the transactional email services Josh mentioned: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ Do you receive the emails when using one of those services? (If yes it confirms the problem is the mail server).
It depends on the type of email and the content of the email as HTML emails may trigger something on the server (or event part of the HTML content) whilst plain text emails go through fine. |
