After adding an item to the cart, I get the “nothing in your event queue” message. I’ve seen that this is often cache related, but I have all /events/ pages set to ignore caching via SiteGround. What’s the next thing to review? |

Hi there, You need to exclude all of EE4’s critical pages from the cache: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/ So currently your registration-checkout page is set to be cached which is causing the above error, add all of the above slugs to your cache exclusion and it should fix it. |

I have them excluded. See screenshot –> https://imgur.com/a/WcAva33 |

What about the caching within Cloudflare? The ‘Nothing in your Event Queue’ error is pretty much exclusive to caching, usually on registration-checkout. |

We’ve used the system via CloudFlare for over a year with no issues. I toggled it to dev mode to test, still seeing the issue though. Not sure what’s changed in the last 24-72 hours. |

Ok, so that’s new info, what has changed on the site within that timeframe? Has PHP been updated on the server by any chance? As mentioned the above is almost always caching, to break it down a little, 98% of the time the above issue is caused by caching, 1% session issues (say you’re getting a new PHP session on every page load (your site is not)) and then 1% unknown for the weird and wonderful issues that pop up. If this is something new, then ‘something’ has changed, it must have. New plugins? Updates? PHP? Anything at all that could be narrowed down a little? |
|
I appreciate your quick responses. I’m on managed PHP by SiteGround. I don’t know the intervals which they update. Think it’s on 7.4 currently. Plugins generally auto-update. We also use this with S2 Member. No updates recently there though. Basically this group uses it for monthly meetings. Worked fine for last month’s meeting, not working right for April’s meeting. |

So the first thing I would do is completely disable all SiteGround caching and retest, assuming they have an option to disable caching? We haven’t changed anything within EE that should cause the above error, but I can send you a copy of the previous version to test and confirm if that works if preferred? |

thanks – going to leave it for the moment as it seems to be behaving. |
|
Yeah… somethings got to be going on server-side here as that doesn’t really make much sense (not you 🙂 the fact that it now just randomly works). |
