I upgraded to EE4 last month and double checked my general settings and my email is correct on where all notifications need to go. info@backdrop-studios.com |
Hi Shannon, By Default Event Espresso sends the Event Admin notification to the Event Authors email address. This is the emails address of the user account that created the event (or is currently set as the author). So it sounds like you would prefer all of your Event Admin emails to go to the ‘Primary Contact Email’ address set within General Settings, which can be done, I just want to confirm that’s correct? |
If that is the case I would think I would have gotten an email but did not. Where would I find that information? |
Log into your site and edit your user account, (hover on the top right and click ‘edit my profile’) Is that the correct email address? Now edit the event within Event Espresso -> Event. Click to edit the event and you should see an author metabox. Is that set to your use account? If that is all correct, try installing the Check Email plugin and use that to send a test email, do you receive that? |
Yes my email is listed in both places but I would prefer all the registration information go to the Backdrop-Studios email |
Did you test the check email plugin to see if your site can send emails? |
Where do I find that plugin? |
Go to Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add New. Search for ‘Check Email’ and it should be listed and allow you to install it from there. Once activated go to Tools -> Check email. Input an email address in the field and click to send a test email. Do you receive anything? |
I sent a test email to info@backdrop-studios.com and it went through. |
How do I get emails to go through thru the event plug in? |
To change your Event Admin emails to use the Primary contact email, go to Event Espresso -> Messages. There you will find multiple message templates, it should look like this – http://take.ms/D86Xm Notice the Event Admin context highlighted within that screenshot, you need to edit each of those message template. (Click on the Event Admin link for each) Within the TO file you will currently have: [EVENT_AUTHOR_FORMATTED_EMAIL] or [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] Change each of those to use [CO_EMAIL], like this – http://take.ms/LLwhW Do that for all message templates that have the Event Admin context active. Currently you have an offsite and onsite online payment method active, which means the messages will only be triggered once a payment has been made. Is that expected? |

That looks like it will be a lot of work so I will just keep it with my email and forward any registration where I want it to go. But my email which is the author still didn’t receive any registration details. The person that did register paid with stripe and stripe sent us an email of confirmation. |
Hi Shannon, earlier you mentioned that the check email plugin sent an email and that was received. Could you check your spam or junk email folder to see if anything arrived there for Event Espresso? If they are there, then a transactional email service like Mandrill can help ensure that notifications arrive to the email inbox: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ Regarding the Stripe emails, those come from Stripe directly rather than your website. — |

Nothing came through to my junk email. |
Hi Shannon, could you please try these steps: 1) Login to your WP dashboard and then go to Event Espresso –> Messages 2) Click on Registrant for the registration approved message type 3) In the top right area, you’ll see a field for an email address. Please enter your email address there and click the button to send the email. Then drop in an alternative email and click the button to send again. Then check both email accounts after a few minutes. Is anything received in either accounts? Could you also let us know who your hosting provider is? Thanks — |

Are you able to send me screen shots. I don’t think I am in the correct area once I click on messages. |
Sure, go to your WP dashboard. Then go to Event Espresso –> Messages. Then look for the Registration Approved message type which looks like this: http://cl.ly/image/3x1P2c300n0D Under the contexts area, there is a blue link for Registrant. Could you please click on that link for Registrant? Then follow these remaining steps: In the top right area, you’ll see a field for an email address. Please enter your email address there and click the button to send the email. Then drop in an alternative email and click the button to send again. Then check both email accounts after a few minutes. Is anything received in either accounts? Could you also let us know who your hosting provider is? Thanks — |

I am not seeing where to enter an email in the top right area. Unless you are referring to Extra Actions? Here is what I have once I click registrant: |
the host is godaddy |
Thanks Shannon. That is the area that I’m referring to and it looks like this: http://cl.ly/image/162r020Y3C1G Other members have reported some email delivery issues with Godaddy. Please do try the steps that I shared here: https://eventespresso.com/topic/not-receiving-email-notification-when-someone-registers/#post-165793 If those are not received, then please setup Mandrill which will take over sending emails for your site: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ — |

I mistake it is hosted through Bluehost. |
Hi Shannon, Are you still having issues with these emails or are they working as expected now? If you enabled the ‘Invoice’ payment method, (Event Espresso -> Payment Methods -> Invoice) register onto the event and select invoice, then finalize the registration, do you receive an email? |
Just the test email that I sent. Nothing through the website if someone registers. |
Can I take a look over your messages system to confirm it is set up correctly? If so please send temporary login details using this form: |

Hi Tony What is a good email address for you. They are requesting an email address for setting up the temporary admin. |
Please use support[at]eventespresso.com Note the account will need to be an Admin account. |
