September 28, 2015 at 12:13 pm Hi, when registering, I have an email address in the field but we keep getting the error that the email address is not valid. How do we fix this? |
September 28, 2015 at 12:17 pm Hi Liana, Could you let us know the version of Event Espresso that you are using? Also, could you share a link to any event on your site so we can check the registration page for errors? Thanks — |

September 28, 2015 at 12:39 pm Hi, it’s 4.8.9 The link is here: http://www.ownersmanual.us.com/test |
September 28, 2015 at 12:57 pm Thanks Liana. I took a look at the event page and I can’t access any of those ticket options as they are members-only. Could you please release at least one of the tickets (e.g. make it public) so I’ll be able to start a registration and proceed to registration checkout? Also, please do update to the current version of Event Espresso 4 and the current version of the WP users integration. You can upgrade through your WP dashboard in the plugins screen. — |

Hi, please try again. I released the single spouse tickets. I can’t use the most current version because we can’t upgrade the pHp. When we do that, it breaks the site. |
Hi Liana, I have a follow up question about the PHP version. Event Espresso’s minimum recommended version of PHP is now version 5.5.28. The version above is recommended, but it is not enforced. That is, you could use PHP 5.4.x and that should work. Could you clarify on what breaks when you update? Are there any error messages that you can copy and paste here? — |

Are you saying that the pHp version is causing this error? I’ve spent quite a bit of time with our hosting company and developer when we tried to upgrade the pHp version. It’s just not possible at this time due to the way the site is programmed and the customizations that have been built in. What I need is for people to be able to purchase tickets. Right now, they can’t and I cannot make the email field to be not-required. I don’t understand why it keeps saying the field is not valid when in fact there is a valid email address in it. Please advise. |
Hi, that was another concern that I was wanting help you figure out as we regularly release maintenance updates. For example, if you are using 4.8.9, then 4.8.10 should also work. I was letting you know that we raised our recommended version but you do not need to be using that version to use Event Espresso 4. What version of PHP are you using and who is your hosting provider? PHP 5.2 is definitely not supported so it you are using a newer version of PHP 5.3.x, or PHP 5.4 or PHP 5.5, then you should be okay. I was able to see the issue with the email address. Does this issue continue when only Event Espresso is activated? — |
