Hi – I am running 3.1.34.P, and I get a message:
Yesterday I tried clearing the registration key, then saving, then re-saving with the registration key, but today I still get no plugin update link. If I try to add as a new plugin, it tells me the “event-espresso” directory already exists. Any ideas? Thanks! |
Hi Rob, Your license key has been reset, please remove the key (cut) from General settings, save settings, re-paste the key and save setting once more. That should clear any issues and allow you to update. |

Hi Tony – I cleared and then saved the registration key again, but now I get no indications at all that there are updates available. |

It can take up to 12 hours for the plugin to recheck against the server. If you want to speed up the process, you can delete the wp_option “external_updates-event-espresso”. |

Hi Sidney – Thanks for the tip about the wp_options table. I have tried various sequences of clearing/setting my reg key and deleting the “external_updates-event-espresso” row, but I am still getting:
and no “update” link available for it. Is it possibly getting confused because I am running EE under WP multi-site? It has always worked in the past – when a new version became available I would get an “update” link and the update just worked. (The “external_updates-event-espresso” row shows up in the wp_2_options table because that’s the site I currently have EE running under.) Thanks! |

Hi, Event Espresso isn’t designed to work with Multisite, and the licence key will only work on a single domain (sub sites are treated as separate domains). Our licencing system was recently updated so it may now be stricter when it comes to multisite (this isn’t confirmed, just a possibility). “If I try to add as a new plugin, it tells me the “event-espresso” directory already exists.” You would need to rename the original Event Espresso folder via FTP/control panel (or remove the plugin) as otherwise it is using the same folder name so wont install. |
