Site: https://aliceinoue.com
Event grid located half way down of the homepage.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. Honestly, our team is surprised by the immedate issues and errors we have received after purchasing this expensive plugin. That said, our problems are follows:

We are using the grid template combined with the cor plugin. When the user clicks on the event grid item, it used to bring them to a 404 page. So I read on here that your support suggested changing the url/events/ slug to anything besides events, then flush our permalinks and try again. After we changed it from events to event, we received the error No configuration section has been provided while attempting to save “_Config”. for our single event page now. I have done every single thing that these forums suggest, from flushing permalinks, deactivating the plugin, flush, reactivate, flush again, changing the permalink structure to post name, flushing my cdn cache, trying in different browsers…etc. At this point, we purchased your plugin only 12 hours ago and yet can not even get it up and running. For $279, we really expect more. Please advise

Second issue, the grid plugin out-of-the-box has many issues with displaying the event title, date and so forth properly. It took an hour just to format the css to look normal. We were quite surprised that so much hands on work was required, again, because of the cost of this plugin. We used to use EventOn which was significantly cheaper and worked/styled correctly right out the box.

In the end, we are trying to mimick this site: http://www.rotman.uwo.ca/events/einstein-at-rotman/
and their use of your plugin. Any help you can provide would be great.

Thank you,

Chase Norton

In the past 24 hours since we used EE4, it is has taken us banging our head against the wall to do simple things with the grid display and how it functions. Sure, adding an event is simple, but how that event is displayed requires tons of CSS work and designing our own templates. We have worked with EventOn for some time, and while it is not as feature rich, it gives us very simple to use but extension methods for displaying our events and the single event pages. I would highly suggest you work on this as we are now at the point of throwing our hands in the air and moving back to EventOn. I truly don’t understand why more professionally built templates and Dashboard configurable options for display both in grid and single events, are not an option. Anytime I wanted to do anything, search the forum and end up at the Developers Corner. The only thing I can think is that your customers are forced into spending large amounts of money paying one of your pros to do the simple things other plugins do for next to nothing if any charge is there at all.

Sigh. I don’t think you thought of your end user with this product.

Hi Chase,

Please request no-cache rules for your Event Espresso pages and that should clear up your issue on the single event page:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/setup-nocache-exclusion-rules-event-espresso/

Next, if you try a couple searches and can’t find what you are looking for, then please create a support post and let us know so we can help.

On the grid template, if you were seeing some strange styling, then it may have been inheriting some additional styling from your current WordPress theme.

What changes are you currently trying to make to the grid template?

Thanks

Lorenzo
