I have been asked about an event management system. I have a new installation of WP 4.1 with Thesis theme and would like to test Event Espresso. What are my options? Are there any known issues with Thesis? I am happy to try beta versions. I appear to have a free key in my account which is not used on any website. Keith |
Hi Keith, How are you today? There are a few options to test Event Espresso although we do not provide a ‘Test’ version of the plugin for you to install. You can test the plugins on our test drive sites which gives you access to the most of the Premium features (some feautre are restricted to prevent users changing them for all users, for example the email templates) You can apply to Test Drive Event Espresso here: However we also have EE3 Lite and EE4 Decaf which you can install and test on your site if you prefer (only activate either one at a time, not both and I would recommend doing so on a development server rather than live) Those versions of EE3 and EE4 without the additional features. I would recommend EE4 as it is the latest version although it depends on your requirements. You can view a comparison of EE3 and EE4 (premium) here: https://eventespresso.com/differences-ee4-ee3/ If you have any further questions just let us know. |

Tony, Good here in UK. Gone for EE4 Decaf on a development server. Does not work straight out of the box with Thesis 2.1.9. Not outputting the ticket system on page only displays event title and text. If I changed theme to 2015 then it works. I will see what I can work out. EE4 looks interesting, last time I asked was about speed dating, when it did not quite work, but now you could have 2 sets of tickets, one for men the other for women. Keith |
Enjoying the cool air? I’m in the UK too 🙂 Is this on the /events/ endpoint or within the single event page?
That you can, with limits for each ticket type and an overall datetime limit so you have multiple options. |

Single event page, I can see the same issue previously posted but can not access it because it is in premium forum. Title is: When I installed EE4 it created a new template called ‘event’ Keith |
Hi Keith, Turns out this is an issue with Thesis 2+ (1.8.5 works as expected) We have an open ticket to investigate this, I will add this thread to that ticket and bump the priority to see if I can get some feedback from our developers. |

Thanks Tony, I am active in various Thesis forums, I will have a look to see if anyone has an answer. All my Thesis sites are now 2.1.9 and there is a lot of movement from 1.8.5. I have seen similar issues with shopping carts and in the end they wrote an integrator. Keith |
|
Hi, Who wrote the integrators – DIY Themes or the shopping cart devs? |
|
Hi Dean Integrator was written by cart dev – Serge Liatko. I have EE on test server: http://www.thesislab.uk/ Event output: http://www.thesislab.uk/events/summer-day-out/ I have posted the details in DIY Themes Forum to see if someone has answer. I am also on byobwebsite so will check there. Thesis works on a box template system and there is no box in template to display EE system. Keith |

OK, please let us know if they come back to you. |

What I have received so far: In a single event template you could try to replace the Thesis Post Box with a box that calls the single event template part. I believe it is located in /public/Espresso_Arabica_2014/content-espresso_events.php The trick for the developer to understand is that Thesis needs to be able to turn the template parts into functions that can be added to boxes. Then you can place the box in the appropriate template. I do have some further info but probably best not to post here but I can send if you give me an email. Keith |
