Often we will have someone register six people all at once under one name. Later, they will send us the names of those people attending. When we go to edit the names, it changes all six of the names. I know the info is tied to the initial registrant is there a way to edit the other ones, though? I saw some threads from 2014, but I just wanted to make sure we were doing it the most efficient way. Thanks very much!! |
Hi Katrina, How are you today? Right, all the registrations are tied to one Contact. So, if you need to separate all the registrations you’ll need to do the following: A) Manually register your attendees in a separate registration (via the admin). You can add registrations while logged in as the admin, from the WordPress > Event Espresso > Events screen by following these steps: 1) Start on the WordPress > Event Espresso > Events screen. That will allow you to effectively create a new transaction with separate Contacts. B) Delete the payments from the original transaction. That way you can create registrations for each person, and the quantity of tickets sold/available will be correct. Does that help? |

Yes. How are the payments associated with those registrations then? And I have to say this kind of defeats the purpose of allowing for multiple registrants. It makes it easier for the user, but that seems like a lot of work on our end. It’s not really a “multiple person” registration solution, since we have to manually add each registrant… do you know what I mean?? |
Hi Katrina, You can manually apply the payments to the new transactions after it’s been created. The ‘multiple person’ registration system is designed that your audience provides the correct information at the time of registration. Otherwise, when people register you would see multiple contact records for the same person, which also results in incorrect data. The answer to the problem is getting attendees to provide the information at the time of registration. You can even hide the function to let people copy Attendee #1’s information to the subsequent attendee forms using CSS if you think that would help get the right data from your audience. |

Thanks for the workaround. I totally understand the emphasis on getting users to use it correctly in the first place. Are there instructions for editing the CSS? Or is that something EE can help with (which I’m assuming would be a custom coding charge or something of that nature). |
Hi Katrina, Please see this post for information on how Event Espresso handles information for multiple registrants: If you would still like to hide the copy attendee option, then please share a link to any event so we can share the CSS to use. Thanks — |

Here is one of the forms on which we would like to hide the “copy attendee” option. Thanks very much!!! |
Hi Katrina, Currently on that event you do not require information for additional registrants, within the event you need to select to collect at least the ‘Personal Information’ question group – http://take.ms/1X5Bn Currently the primary attendees details is used for all registrations as you do not request addtional info, this also means the copy option is not currently available – http://take.ms/sCC8lz If select to collect Personal Info for additional registrants the information will be requested for each registrant and the copy option will appear, we can then provide CSS that will hide the option on your site. |

Thank you for the guidance! We actually have an upcoming event that will be very important to make sure that people put in the different attendees for multiple registrants, however it is private at the moment. I made sure to select “Questions for Additional Registrants” for https://www.actmissouri.org/event-registration/2016-midwest-conference-on-problem-gambling-and-substance-abuse-mcpgsa/ **REMOVED** Can someone review and let me know about the CSS? And is that something we would need to code for each event? Thanks again!

Hi Katrina, These forums are public so we highly discourage posting login details onto the forums themselves. I tried logging into the account with those details with the intention of changing the password but seems the password is wrong. Can you reset the password and then use this form: https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/ To send us the login details please. |

Oooops! Thanks for removing that information. I was thinking it was private because of the login, but obviously that was incorrect. I filled out the form and checked the credentials that were provided. Thank you!! You guys are a great support team!! |
Hi Katrina, Here is the CSS that can be used in to remove the copy attendee information: https://gist.github.com/lorenzocaum/b59a8f4aeb8faea76eec If your theme has a custom css area, then you can add it there. If it doesn’t, then you can install a free plugin like Reaktiv CSS Builder or Simple Custom CSS and then they will add an option in Appearance –> Custom CSS which could be used. — |

Thanks very much. This worked well to ensure that people have to fill the fields out, but technically, they can still type in the same names for each attendee. Here is an event for example, if someone could review, and let me know if we are doing something wrong. We appreciate the help! |
Hi Katrina, No your not doing anything wrong. Event Espresso does not prevent users from entering the same details into the additional registrations. The feature from above that is now hidden is to help users who want to use the same details across all registrations without needing to retype, but we do not check the details and prevent duplicates. |

Ok. Great. Sounds good. Thank you for checking!! And hopefully, they won’t cheat the system. : ) |
You’re most welcome 🙂 PLease let us know if you have any further questions. |
