I have a new user who wanted to make a purchase on my EE4 website. However he had some kind of issue and registered 12 times last week trying to complete the same transaction, which did not go through to the Paypal Merchant account for some reason. Today, he tried to register again, for the 13th time, but was again unable to complete the same transaction. What do you advise I do? Should I delete all of his incomplete/failed transactions and all his registrations and then advise him to try again? What is the best way to fix this issue? Other registrations and transactions have been completed and payment made after his issue, so the EE4 software is working. Can you suggest what issue he may have had such as a browser issue that would explain why he was unable to complete a transaction? Thanks for your help!
Also, how do I deal with the “reserved” tickets for these failed transactions? Will these be removed by EE4 from the quantity of tickets available for an event or do I have to manually adjust the number of tickets available if the transaction failed? I do know how to manually adjust the ticket quantity available number.
Did your registrant/attendee share the web browser that they were trying to use? I’m wondering if a browser extension is interfering here.
On adjusting the ticket quantities, that should not be needed as by default “paid” registrations are set to registration approved and registrations that are approved are counted against the limits for a ticket.
Could you check to see what the default registration status is for this event? It should appear in the event options widget which appears in the right side of the event editor when viewing an event:
