I’ve had a comment the booking system on my site is a little confusing. 2nd issue is I’d like “attendee” reworded to booking. So when someone is booking in their child multiple times (days) they’re not confused when it says “x3 attendees” but “x3 bookings”. It might sound knitpicky but preanticipating the comments! The flip side is that people may well be booking more than one child at a time so “booking” covers all bases! Thanks in advance. |
Hi Declan, could you rephrase your first question or provide an example to an event? I’m not sure that I understand what you have described. On your second question, are you wanting to change the word Attendee which is using in registration checkout to Booking? — |

Hi Lorenzo, 1. http://www.adambrowntennisacademy.com/booking/?ee=3 . Seeing it live may help you understand better. You can see there are options to book individual days. In this instance I need the registration info to capture which days they’re booking, currently selected on a drop down menu per booking. The days question is in its own question group. When i created the event I’ve set it to ask info for all attendees, but it only ask their personal info not the days to, how can i do that? 2. Yes thats what I’m looking to do! Thanks in advance, |

Hi, 1) Have you resolved this as it’s showing for additional attendees? Generally you would add the question group to the Additional Attendees section in the event editor. 2) Wording changes can be done via the language files/translation system. We have a guide to a couple of different options here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-change-wording-with-poedit/ |

Hi Dean, No I haven’t yet resolved the first issue, looking to include 2 question groups if possible, In the event editor I added the attendee info to be asked and also need the day selection available. 2. I’ll try this, thank you. With a previous change this didn’t work but hopefully this time! |

I have gone through and used PO-Edit to alter wording. There appears to be to no effect? From the guide using en-GB… My wp-config file already has this language set… not changing? Thanks! |
Hi Declan, Can you post the link that you used to download the PO File please? Also what is the full filename of the PO/MO files you are using and which location have you added them to?
Currently the day question is shown on your registration form, is that now what you are expecting? Is there a reason you are using EE3 rather than EE4? The reason I ask is this may be easier to setup within EE4 as you can setup a single event within multiple datetimes and tickets, then a single registrant can select any number of tickets. (You could have an individual ticket for each day) and just provide 1 set of details although the registrant and attendee would be different (like they are now) |

Hi Tony, Link I used for the PO file http://translate.eventespresso.com/projects/event-espresso/en-gb/event-espresso-en_UK … filename editited and uploaded “event-espresso-en-gb.po” … I followed the guide and uploaded to wp-content/uploads/espresso/languages. I went to edit the wp-config file but this is already set to GB so didn’t alter it. I’ve moved the day question to be included in the reg form rather than having it in its own group. At the time I chose EE3 for the addons. Can I convert over to EE4 easily? (I have added on the user integration and multiple event registration, these 2 I definitely need to maintain) can I do this as part of my current licence? Thanks in advance. |
The PO file is the human readable version of the translations, you use this with POEdit to add/edit your own translations. When you save the file POEdit will create a .MO file…. A MO files is the same as the PO, only in machine code. This file is the file WordPress will use, not the PO file. event-espresso-en-gb.po That should be event_espresso-en_GB.po (note the underscores and caps) Which will create a MO file with filename: event_espresso-en_GB.mo
We can apply your current purchases/licenses towards the EE4 versions. However, before moving forward it would be best to check EE4 suits your needs. I recommend signing up to Test Drive Event Espresso 4 and creating an event to see if it works for your use case. I created a quick example based on your EE3 event here: http://demoee.org/tonysupersite/events/mr-declan-demo-event/ The ‘Full week’ tickets register onto all of the datetimes available in one go (so you can set attendee limites) the single day tickets register onto their specific datetimes (Monday ticket applies to the Monday datetime) Datetime/Ticket setup – http://take.ms/v7yK1 Ticket setup – http://take.ms/GtW18 Is that what you are looking to do? I noticed you combined multiple weeks within a single event, this is also possible, but the ticket selector will get rather long (as you’ll need individual tickets for each week) |

right ok, so it looks like I’ve used the wrong filetype… very easily possible! From what you’ve shown EE4 looks a better interface and system to do what we’re looking to do. Multiple weeks aren’t in one event – they’re separate, just mentioned in each. If you can convert that over that would be great thanks. Would I need to install EE4 and delete EE3? Many thanks |
Could you please use the form available here: https://eventespresso.com/contact/ Select Sales/Billing question and provide the relevant details, a member of our sales team will review and be in contact shortly. (As these forums are public we keep account/billing information private)
You will need to de-activate EE3 (and its Add-ons) first, then install EE4 and run the migrations to bring over your current event data. However, we highly recommend updating on a development copy of the site first as EE4 is a completely different system to EE3. If you do not have a development copy of the site, now is the best time to create one. Migrations can sometimes fail and it is much better to work through any issues that come up on the development copy than on your live site. So creating a copy of the site either locally or within a sub-directory/sub-domain and running the migrations there first, checking everything works as expected and all your registrations/event information is still available, then running the migrations live. Either way be sure you have a full site backup or at the very least a Database backup before running the migrations. There are numerious plugins available to help with this, for example: |

Many thanks for your help. Have contacted support for the migration. |
