Ever since I installed the plugin, the cart widget was never shown. On the other hand the toggle for adding more attendees used to work when I first installed the plugin but now it doesn’t work anymore, could you please help? |
Hi, The Add To Cart link will not show on an individual page, only on the event list ( The link shows on this page http://www.nomadarabia.com/event-registration/ – screenshot http://take.ms/FirWU ). To add the add to cart to the individual event please add the [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK] to the event description or via a template. ESPRESSO_CART_LINK documentation – https://eventespresso.com/wiki/shortcodes-template-variables/#add-to-cart Regarding the Add More Attendees, this uses jQuery (JavaScript). The odd thing is, even right clicking wont work on that page where right clicking and jQuery work elsewhere on your site (the add to cart uses jQuery too). There are no obvious errors showing either. It could be: Theme related My first thoughts is that the jQuery has been minified and as such might not be in the proper load order, though that usually throws an error. I would start by disabling minification and clearing your cache and see if that resolves the issue. If not then it’s the slow process of troubleshooting the theme, plugins and Cloudflare to see where the issue lies. |
I will try deactivating my caching plugin and see what happens, it’s been a bit funny lately…Also this morning my site was off cloudflare for a while, it took 20 reloads to get a live version back…Do you think I should not use a caching plugin with cloudflare?? Currently I’m using both cloudflare and wp supercach but it used to work fine, I dunno why it suddenly stopped |
I deactivated WP Supercache and it didn’t make any difference, nothing changed |
I also using WP protection to prevent users from right clicking, would you like me to disable it too?? |
Also could you kindly advice me on how I can embedd the cart into the espresso event template? |
I think the link shows on the registration page when you are viewing from a mobile device only, but not from a regular desktop browser |
Hi,
De-activating the plugin does not clear the cache, your site is still serving cached pages. If you look in the page source you’ll find something like this:
You’ll need to activate the W3 Total Cache, disable caching and then clear the cache to test correctly.
I would recommend disabling this until we find the cause. Have you added the [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK] shortcode to the event description of this event? http://www.nomadarabia.com/event-registration/?ee=99 |
Ok It’s done I’ve disabled w3 Total Cahche I also disabled the right click prevention plugin |
I haven’t added the cart shortcode in the event description as I am trying to use the cart widget, I am assuming it also is not appearing because of the same problem with jquery |
I’ve just added this shortcode to the event page and still it’s not appearing [ESPRESSO_CART_LINK event_id=”99″ direct_to_cart=1 moving_to_cart=”Redirecting to cart…”] It’s still not showing |
So now I see that the link is appearing at “/?event=99” Yet the problem is that the calendar is the focal point, and when ppl choose an event off the calendar it directs them to a different url “/?ee=99” which is the registration page, and even on the registration page, the “add more attendees” toggle isn’t working.. Is there a way I can make the calendar forward users to the “/?event=99” page instead of “/?ee=99” ?? |
Okay so I have managed to use a shortcode create an “Add to cart” link on the “/?ee=99” page, which works great, except the cart widget only appears if I actually put something in the cart, anyway I can make it visible all the time?? Also the add more attendees toggle still not working, I still need that to work, help please.. Thanks |
Here is what I have done so far, I have switched “Show registrations form” off on teh registration page, and I used the shortcode to display a link “Register for this Event”, and it redirects you to the shopping cart page.. This works for me but I still do not have the multiple event registration functionality, if I could only add a link in the shopping cart page next to “Enter Attendee Information” that says “Continue Shopping” and it redirects you back to the calendar, would be perfect..Could you please help me as to tell me which file I need to access so I can add this “continue Shopping” long on the shopping cart page??? Thank you very much |
Also how can I make the shortcode display an image instead of a text link? Is it possible? |
Hi, There have been multiple posts since Tony’s response on the caching plugin. Could you please summarize your current questions? Then please hold off asking additional questions until we have had a chance to answer those. Thanks — |

Ok, final and only question.. I just need to know how I can fix the “Add more Attendees” toggle so that it works.. It’s currently disabled on my page, I’m using the shopping Cart instead until I find a solution to this.. |
Hi Bander, Can you check this? If you temporarily switch to the default WP theme (twentyfourteen), does the Add more Attendees toggle start working? You can check this without actually changing themes by installing the theme test drive plugin. |
Hi Josh, I tried that and the toggle still doesn’t work in twentyfourteen |
Thanks for checking. Can you try with all non – Event Espresso plugins temporarily deactivated? |
I have got event espresso and buddypress plus a bunch of other plugins for automatic backup and syncing and JSON API, my site provides me with many functions, I’m afraid to switch some plugins off something might go wrong when I turn them back on and would end up with a bigger problem on my hands.. Can I do that in test drive mode?? |
Hi, The test drive will only switch your theme for the admin and does not enable or disable any plugins on the site. edit – loc — |

Dear Lorenzo SO I decided to collect only personal information of ticket buyer only and let them choose the number of attendees from the dropdown without having to enter all attendee information..problem with that is that I am trying to retain everyone who comes through into my mailing list so I can advertise to them later, also we are member based and I’m trying to expand my member base, last month I missed so many guests who I wasn’t able to capture their information.. Thanks |
But I know for a fact that the toggle was working at the beginning when I first set up espresso on my site |
If it was working before and then broke after updating several plugins then this is likely a plugin conflict. You would need to deactivate all plugins and reactivate them individually to test. If you have a lot of plugins, then you can test this out during off hours. — |
