Hey Guys,

Is your Multiple Event Registration (https://eventespresso.com/product/espresso-multiple/) similar to the Gravity Forms feature? Is so… I’m in. Very in. My client hosts several bodybuilding competitions and a number of your plugins are already looking to make my life a lot easier. Man I sure hope so…

Side note, a simple ‘Event Results’ plugin would be golden. So my client can easily put in as many categories as needed, and then the athlete, their number and position or placing in the competition. Just an idea that would save me at least a wee bit of time.

Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and all the best,

Hi Ryan,

It turns out that the Multi Event Registration add-on that was built for Event Espresso 3 isn’t similar to Gravity Forms. You can get an idea of how it works by going to the test drive site here:

http://testdrive.eventespresso.com/

And click a few the “Add to cart” links that appear to the right of the register button for each of the events there. Basically what it does is allow for more than one event to be registered for within one order. Event Espresso 4 does not currently have a Multi Event Registration add-on, but we do have one on our roadmap.

I’d recommend looking at the admin only question feature to add fields to keep track of the event results. That’s a feature that’s included in Event Espresso 4.

Hey Josh, thanks for the reply and clarification.

I can’t seem to locate any where on your website/documentation that describes the admin only question feature. May I trouble you to point me in the right direction please?

Lastly, is there a list of everyone whose registered for events? And is that list saved only to the actual event or is there a general list that remains even after the event has expired? Basically, I’m wondering if we can use this system as an athlete database as well? I should mention there will be athletes registering to compete, as well as guests/friends/family/trainers that will also be registering. This is where I was considering Gravity Forms for only the well… form part.

Thanks again for your time.

Hi Ryan,

The documentation isn’t too verbose because the admin only question feature involves checking a box, and if the box is checked, admins only see the registration form question on the backend. A link to the documentation follows:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/questions/#add-q

The attendee lists for each event are stored in the database and can be accessed during registration and after the event is expired from the WP admin.

As far as using Event Espresso as an athlete database, it depends on what your needs are and your team’s level of WordPress plugin development skills. As with most WP plugins, they can be extended with custom PHP programming. If you come across a place where you could use a hook or filter to make things happen, we encourage you to sign up for github access and submit pull requests:

Sorry Josh, one more thing. Am I able to add a field to the Contact Profiles? For example, if an athlete has paid their membership fees, when their membership expires, and if they’ve purchased any photo/dvd packages?

Thanks again!
