I’m having an issue with the Mobile login app. I have installed the Application password plugin. I go to log into my site via the Mobile app and it gives me a 404 error, web site not found. I’m using my WordPress login info. Can someone tell me what I’m doing wrong? Is there something I need to setup for the Application password plug in? I can’t located in my WordPress panel. Thanks for the help. Paul |
Hi Paul, No setup is needed with the Application passwords plugin, but it can be used to set up additional passwords that work only for the application: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-event-apps/#authentication Since you’re getting a 404 error, the way forward will be to go through the troubleshooting checklist from the mobile app documentation: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-event-apps/#troubleshooting |

Ok, I’ve checked all of the troubleshooting points. I’ve disabled my firewall just in case. Still receiving 401 errors. When I enter the URL, should I be entering the basic website URL? In this case it would be “mahightix.com”. Or, should I enter the URL for the specific event? I’ve done both with no change. Just trying to eliminate the different options. Thanks. Paul |
Hi Paul, Are you getting 404 or 401 errors? Where do you see these?
You’ll want Which version number of the app are you using? |

It’s a 404 error. Sorry about that. The app version is 1.6.4. Thanks for the help on this. |

Not sure if this helps you or not. I’m using Wordfence for my firewall. I did disable the firewall and still get the same result, “Sorry, can’t log in 404- not found” error. Hope this helps. |
Your site uses EE4 but it sound slike your using the EE3 apps. I’m not sure if your using the Android or iOS apps (based on the version number I suspect iOS) but it should be either one of these: iOS – https://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=1095432613&mt=8 Android – https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eventespressohd.android |

Well, you were right about the app. It looks like it’s talking to the server now. When I go to login, I’m getting this error message: Error Occourred The server was acting as a gateway or proxy and received an invalid response from the upstream server. What do you think it is? Thanks again for the help. Paul |
Hi Paul, Usually that error is caused by a mistype in the URL field. |

It’s working Josh. Figured out I was using the wrong password. The combination of getting the right app with the right info worked. Thanks for the support on this. I really appreciate it. Paul |
