Hi, In EE3 we were able to see the registration counter and now in EE4 when I click on an event there is no summury of how many people are registered for event. Also, in EE3 we were able to increase the number of attendees (when we see that more people are interested) that is missing in EE4 now. What would be a process to change the number of attendees in EE4 Thanks |

Hi Chris, The registration counter in EE4 appears over to the right side of the Event editor page, here’s a screenshot: Are you looking to increase the registration limit? If so you can change that by setting a higher value to the Limit field in the Event Datetimes editor, here’s screenshot to where you can find it: |

Thanks Josh, I was not specific about those issues. The registration counter in EE4 should show on the front-end page for participants and presenters to see if they need to advertise more the event – NOT in EE plugin Regarding the registration limit it ONLY works if there is a button “Update” BUT if the event is sold out then the only button you see is “Publish” and it would not increase the limit. It is very important for us to have those options “active” to run those events efficently and productive way. Thanks for your help Regarding the increase the registration limit it only works when there is a button “Update” BUT if the event is sold out there is NO button “Update but “Publish” the clicking on “Publish” does not increase the numbe – kind of a bug, I guess. |

That’s also available in Event Espresso 4. To activate that setting, you go to Event Espresso > Calendar > Advanced Settings, then you scroll down to Memory Management and set Display Attendee Limits to Yes.
Clicking on Publish in and of itself will not increase the number. Instead, you follow these steps: 4) Then you click on Publish. At that point you’ll see some admin notices about spaces now becoming available and the event status being changed, and the notices kind of pile up, but you can ignore those and 5) You click on Publish again. |

Thanks Josh, Also, the trick with “double clicking” on Publish worked and then it would show Update button. We waiting for very important option in future EE4 updates to avoid duplicate registration based on email and name. Some people register up to 5 times preventing other users to register and we have to spend lots of time to find out those dupicate and remove it manually – a REAL PAIN. Thanks for your great help |

Thanks for the feedback. We actually have a Feature request board that’s set up on trello and you’re invited to vote for and leave a comment on that feature: https://trello.com/c/Qi9xFwQg/105-limit-one-registration-per-event-per-email-address |

Hi Josh, Thanks for showing us those additional options. Not sure if related but we noticed another issue with EE4 now. http://www.otffeo.on.ca/en/learning/otf-connects/sessions/ 1 Technology in the Classroom When I choose first 3 categories it this message: If I choose 4 or 5 category it shows me a different error: Can I get a paid quick help with you. |
|
Hi Chris, On the first three, the shortcodes need to be updated to use this format: [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=your_event_category_slug] Here is an example: [EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id=”technology-in-the-classroom-1412443166″] –> [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=technology-in-the-classroom-1412443166] The last two links have a parameter from Event Espresso 3 in them. Do those links need to be updated to point to a WordPress page or a single event page? — |
|
Hi Lorenzo, Can you tell how those shortcodes can be change? Regarding the last two categories we thought that EE4 will take all settings from EE3. We would like whatever is easier and faster solutions “point to a WordPress page or a single event page” Thanks |
|
Hi Chris, You’ll need to go to each page and update the shortcode. I shared an example of the format that is needed. Old shortcode: [EVENT_ESPRESSO_CATEGORY event_category_id=”technology-in-the-classroom-1412443166″] New shortcode: [ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=technology-in-the-classroom-1412443166] Then the links (last two items) on the page that you shared need to be updated to point to the correct event pages. Static links (e.g. a link that is added to a page) is not changed during an upgrade. You can edit the page using the page editor in the WordPress dashboard (WP-admin) to update those links to point to the correct event pages. — |
