I have a site running Event Espresso 4.10.10.p and it seems like some of the “Registration Approved” emails are not sending to the Event Admin every time. We haven’t heard of any issues from the registrants. If I manually resend the email, it does go through. However, at registration time it seems like sometimes it won’t send? I’ve checked logs on my mail server and there isn’t any record of an attempt to send either. |

Hi there, If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Message activity. Can you see the missing emails listed there? If so, what colour status bar do they have (the bar to the left of each message)? |
|
The emails are listed there, and they are green. So it’s been a bit puzzling to me where they are going! If I resend the message that is listed there, it does come through successfully. |

Event Espresso doesn’t ‘send’ email itself, what it does is build out the email content and call a WordPress core function called wp_mail() which then sends the email however your server is set to send them. So, if the emails show as sent (a green status bar), EE has built out the email correct and passed it over to wp_mail() which then returns How is your site configured to send email? Are you just using your hosts mailserver or SMTP? |
|
Wordpress is using the defaults. PHP is just using the default mail commands to relay the outbound message through my MTA. |

Ok, so who hosts your mail? For example deliverability issues we recommend either using a transactional email service, we have some listed here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ Or, you could try using an SMTP plugin to send the emails directly via your whichever mail service you are using, for example: https://en-gb.wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ If WordPress shows the email as sent (the green status bar) there is little we can do to the emails after that, they are being dropped/lost by the mail servers downstream. |
