Where can I see the text for the default messages sent upon registration and payment?

And, how to I create my own template? There appears to be a template in the message section, but it’s not clear if I can use this for my own custom message to send manually.

Thanks.

Hi Valerie,

The default message templates are within Event Espresso -> Messages.

Each message type has its own set of templates for the various ‘contexts’ active on that message type. See here for more info on message contexts:

https://eventespresso.com/wiki/messages-system-working-with-message-contexts/

And, how to I create my own template? There appears to be a template in the message section, but it’s not clear if I can use this for my own custom message to send manually.

There’s 2 different requests here, so…

The ‘Default’ template is used for your events by default. You can edit these templates if you wish for the message within those to be sent for all registration on your events.

Each template also allows you to create ‘custom’ templates. Say you have a special event that you don’t want the default ‘Registration Approved’ message to be used with. You create a custom template, assign it a name and your custom content, then you can select that message template within the individual event.

Which message is it that you need to edit? We can provide further details if needed.

Hi Tony,

I do not see a list of default messages as shown in your link. Here is what I see….http://jumpgraphix.com/stage/dev/ACURA/screenprints/msg%20template%20tabs.jpg

I have sent this image to Lorenzo, on another ticket that I opened about emails not getting issued. Am I missing the list of default templates?

Thanks.

Hi Valerie,

Could you go to Messages –> Settings and toggle them off. Then toggle them back on. You see see several message types appear.

Now return to Messages. Are they now appear in that area instead of a single message type?

Thank you! Toggling off, then on in the Messages tab worked. Now the emails are working for Paypal and VIP admin-issued tickets.
