I’ve been reading on the forums and couldn’t find a solution to my issue. Recipients: Event Admin | Primary Registrant | Registrant (all are blue so they should be active) Message templates for Event Admin: Message templates for Primary Registrant: Message templates for Registrant: I tried changing the From: to [EVENT_AUTHOR_EMAIL] but that didn’t make any difference. Interestingly, the message log shows that it sends messages out to the registrant but they don’t get there – even if I use the same email address as being used for [CO_EMAIL]. Can you please help me make sense of this? Thanks . . . Erika. |

Hi Erika, If the message log shows the message and has a green status bar to the left of it, EE sent the email and no errors were thrown during the request so it’s not an issue with the contexts being active or not. We had a similar report from another user who found their mail server dropped the email that contained a link to the venue (the event admin email does no contain a link but the registrant contexts do). Have you edited the message templates at all? If not you can try removing the link to confirm if thats the issue, just go to: Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates -> Registration Approved -> Registrant. Remove this section – http://take.ms/pZO9o Save and retest, do you receive the email? Another option is to switch to using a transactional email service so you no longer use your host’s mail server to send the emails, we have some options for that here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/postmark-app-mandrill-transactional-email-handling-services/ |

Hello Tony Yes, the status bar next to the message in the message log is green. I did not edit the message template. I followed your suggestion to delete the link section but still did not get an email sent to the registrant. Do you have any other suggestions before I sign up for a transactional email service? Thanks . . . Erika. |

Hello Tony I saw this EE response on someone else’s post regarding messages not being sent: “Alternatively, you could also use a gmail account and configure a plugin like the WP Mail SMTP plugin to send the emails.” Do you think that would be an option for me as well? If yes, would you be able to tell me how to set that up? I already have a gmail account for our organization. Thanks . . . Erika. |

Using the WP Mail SMTP plugin with a gmail account would also change your site so it no longer uses your host’s mail server to send the emails. You basically install this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ Then follow its installation guide: |

EXCELLENT JOB, Josh! THANK YOU very much for your instructions. I followed the instructions and test registrations received confirmation messages. |
