Messages stuck in "Queued for Generating"

Over the past few days my messages, which had been working fine before, are getting stuck in various states. Right now there are two messages stuck in “Queued for Generating,” and in the “To” column (of the Message Activity listing) it says “No recipient” for these two messages. What can I do to get these unstuck?

Hi there,

The first thing to do is go back and check what’s changed on the website and/or server since the time everything was working. So for example if there were plugin updates, new plugins added, or updates done to the webserver, then that may affect the scheduler where it can no longer move the messages through the queue.

One quick thing to try is switch the settings over to send messages on the same request. This avoids any dependence on using the wp_cron for scheduling message tasks and any new emails going forward will immediately get generated and sent. You can change this setting in Event Espresso > Messages > Settings.
