Hi – trying to add a registrant manually and having a problem. Seems similar to this thread –> https://eventespresso.com/topic/event-espresso-4-manual-event-registration-wont-let-me-complete/

Using EE4. Click Add New Registrant button, pick ticket, enter info, then it circles right back to the ticket selection screen and doesn’t save anything.

Help!

Hi there,

Can you check with your web host to see if it’s triggering a mod_security rule when you add a registration on the back end of the site?

Do I just ask that verbatim? Would that appear in the web logs?

I checked with Flywheel (host) and they said there are no PHP functions disabled. They checked the logs and they were clean.

I tried again and it worked. First time it worked in 5 tries. Then I tried again and it failed. So it’s inconsistent. Not sure what else to check/review.

Ok, I think I narrowed it down – it works when I DON’T select “send related messages” and it fails when I DO select “send related messages” …

I’d still ask them to check the mod security logs which may provide a clue if there’s a mod_security rule getting triggered when you submit the form and try to send the messages.

Other than that, this may indicate a problem with sending email through the mail server. In which case you can try temporarily deactivating all other plugins on the site and activating WP_DEBUG (use logging only by following this guide) :

I did ask them and there aren’t any rules being triggered. I’m sending mail through Mandrill on the site.

You can still rule out a plugin conflict and set up WP debug logging. To be clear, when we try the same action on a vanilla installation of Event Espresso the mails send and there are no issues with manual registrations.
