Hey guys! |
Hi Drew, Are some of those who registered for events deciding not to opt in to the mailing list? |
Hey Josh! They shouldn’t be – I disabled the verification email. I don’t see how it would be an option at that point?? Or am I missing something? |
So you have the Skip double opt-in emails box checked, can you check to see what’s set for “Submit to MailChimp when…” Depending on what’s set there, and which payment gateway is in use, it could have a bearing on whether a new registration passes its email to MailChimp. |
Well it was set to “registration is completed with an approved status”, but I changed that today to “subscriber submits information” in the hopes that it would send all the ones currently there… does that retroactively apply, or not? |
The change doesn’t retroactively apply, it only affects new registrations going forward. |
So you think that will be a better selection moving forward then? |
You’ll get more email addresses sent to MailChimp that way, which may or may not be better depending on whether you want all registration form submissions sent to MailChimp.
Correct. |
Okay great – yeah we’ve set it up to add them to specific a list for that specific event, simply to send reminders and detailed information to people about the one thing they signed up for – we’re not using it to send them any marketing materials. Thanks Josh. Fingers crossed this solves it. |
Just to note, its possible to use the Registration CSV to import the missed registrations into your MailChimp list, take a look here: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-import-registrations-into-mailchimp/ |
